Major Motion
was formed in 1975 in Southwest Los Angeles. The name Major Motion was inspired by Marshall “Major Taylor, a pioneer in American cycling.

Major Taylor was an African American cyclist who won many races including the 1899 one mile World Championship in Montreal. It was unprecedented for an American to achieve that level of performance. Professional cycling at the turn of the century was dominated by Europeans, it is in the spirit of Major Taylor’s example of clean living, love of the sport of cycling and his dedication to excellence us at Major Motion.

Our Mission
The mission of Major Motion is to expose junior boys and

girls from the ages of 10-18 to the best possible opportunities to compete in the sport of bicycle racing.

We at Major Motion believe that kids in these age groups will be the future of American cycling and by exposing them to this sport we increase the talent pool. Many of these children and teens would normally not be exposed to such a sport as competitive cycling.

It is our desire to continue the development of these athletes to the highest level of the sport and to establish at an early age a lifestyle that includes physical fitness and discipline. Along with racing we encourage our athletes to pursue their education as diligently as they do their sport, with a strong focus on college.
